Our vision

Through The Testimony Project, we wish to create a safe, intersectional, supportive, compassionate, and empathetic space where victim-survivors of gender-based and sexual violence can feel secure, heard, unashamed, and empowered when telling their stories, and talking about gender-based and sexual violence in society.

We wish to use the power of testimony as a conscious raising technique, a form of direct action and protest, as well as tool for creating social change, to protest the actions of those who perpetuate a culture of sexual violence through their actions (or lack thereof). We want to use our project to educate others about the prevalence of gender-based violence and sexual violence, to reduce the stigma and marginalization victim-survivors of sexual and gender-based violence face. We believe our project has the potential to provide insight into how we can improve existing gender-based and sexual violence advocacy and prevention efforts while serving and supporting survivors inside and outside our communities.
