Our vision

Through The Testimony Project, we wish to create a safe, intersectional, supportive, compassionate, and empathetic space where victim-survivors of gender based and sexual violence can feel secure, heard, unashamed, and empowered when telling their stories, and talking about gender based and sexual violence in society.

We wish to use the power of testimony as a conscious raising technique, a form of direct action and protest, as well as tool for creating social change, to protest the actions of those who perpetuate a culture of sexual violence through their actions (or lack thereof). We want to use our project to educate others about the prevalence of gender based violence and sexual violence, to reduce the stigma and marginalization victim-survivors of sexual and gender-based violence face. We believe our project has the potential to provide insight into how we can improve existing gender-based and sexual violence advocacy and prevention efforts, while serving and supporting survivors inside and outside our communities.
